Sharjah Aquarium offers event-organisers a truly distinctive backdrop: an educational, marine-life enriched venue located along the Al Khan waterfront of Sharjah, spanning two floors and housing some 20+ large aquatic tanks filled with around 1.8 million litres of water. With its unique combination of immersive underwater habitats, local coastal environment displays and a design that brings marine biodiversity into public space, it delivers a memorable experience beyond typical event venues. The marine-themed ambiance, visible from aquariums and walk-through exhibits, gives weddings, conferences and receptions an atmospheric “under the sea meets waterfront” character.
The layout spans two levels, with a ground and first floor designed to host both exhibition style displays and guest circulation areas that can be adapted for event use. The interior features large glass-aquarium walls, submerged tunnels and open viewing galleries that showcase marine life in motion; materials include reinforced clear acrylic or glass panels, marine-grade stainless steel framing, polished stone floors and ambient lighting that highlights aquatic features while accommodating event wear-and-tear. Evening lighting is carefully calibrated, combining soft-blue uplights, pool tank under-lighting and indirect architectural illumination to create a serene yet dramatic setting. With the adjacent outdoor terrace and waterfront plaza, the venue allows hybrid indoor-outdoor configurations for receptions or gala dinners. Overall, Sharjah Aquarium presents a blend of educational appeal, marine spectacle and event-friendly infrastructure.
