Overview
The Khorfakkan Amphitheatre is a striking open-air performance venue set at the foot of Al Sayed Mountain and facing the beach of Khorfakkan on the east coast of the UAE. Inspired by the grandeur of Roman amphitheatres and infused with Islamic ornamental touches, this landmark blends historic architectural references with modern event-facility requirements. With a seating capacity of over 3,500 (approx. 3,600) and a footprint of roughly 1,700 m² for the arena space, it includes dedicated service lobbies, elevator access and a high-end audiovisual and high-capacity cooling system to support performances year-round in the region’s climate.
The venue layout features a semi-circular tiered seating bowl, stone-façade arches and columns carved into the mountainside, with supporting terraces and viewing decks. The materials include white limestone (sourced from Oman) for the façade, a robust outdoor cooling and HVAC system engineered to deliver comfort even in summer conditions, and a state-of-the-art lighting and sound rig suitable for concerts, conferences, cultural shows and gala events. Set adjacent to a dramatic 45 metre long and 11 metre-wide waterfall feature, the amphitheatre offers event-organisers a unique backdrop for weddings, ceremonies or corporate functions — merging scenic coast-mountain views with functional event infrastructure.
