Overview
Hodjapasha Cultural Center is a historic performance venue housed in a restored fifteenth century Ottoman hammam in the Sirkeci area of Istanbul. The building was originally constructed by Hoca Sinan Pasha and today offers a unique blend of heritage architecture and curated cultural programming. Under its high domed ceilings and original brickwork, the center hosts the famous Whirling Dervishes Sema ceremony and the Rhythm of the Dance show, which together have earned it strong international recognition and a Tourism Award for Best Local Authentic Events.
For events, organizers work with an intimate circular hall where the audience surrounds a central glass or wooden performance area, creating excellent sight lines and a strong sense of immersion. Atmospheric lighting washes the original stone and brick surfaces, while modern sound and visual effects support live music, Sufi ceremonies, and Turkish dance productions. The space is best suited for seated cultural programs, corporate hospitality around a show, premium incentive groups, and high impact brand or VIP evenings that want to leverage a historic, authentic Istanbul setting rather than a conventional hotel ballroom.
