Alif – The Mobility Pavilion stands as a flagship centerpiece of Expo City Dubai’s Mobility District. Designed by Foster + Partners and opened in early 2021 for Expo 2020, it now remains as a permanent legacy venue. Covering approximately 252,000 sq ft, the curvaceous, stainless-steel-clad structure houses multiple immersive halls—each dedicated to different phases of mobility, from ancient innovations to digital networks. At its heart is the world’s largest passenger lift, capable of carrying over 160 visitors at once, beginning the journey in a cinematic "dark ride" environment. Inside Alif, advanced audiovisual and interactive technologies orchestrated by Electrosonic deliver a seamless narrative, blending projection mapping, dome screens, surround sound, Holonet effects, transparent OLED displays, and more across thematic acts (“Physical World”, “Digital World”, “Unified World”). The pavilion integrates immersive lighting and staging to guide guests through theatrical storytelling settings—from massive giant figures to futuristic digital environments designed in collaboration with Wētā Workshop. Outside, visitors can gather in outdoor performance zones and landscaped entrances for pre or post-show gatherings. Alif caters to corporate activations, gala evenings, educational events, and intimate ceremonies, with its flexible, narrative-driven space offering a truly unique venue for event organizers seeking technologically rich, architectural showpieces.
